Upon the retirement of our current rector in June 2024, Church of the Ascension in Pittsburgh, PA, a member of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh, is seeking a full-time Rector. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, March 6. Initial Zoom interviews with short-listed candidates will take place in April, following Easter. Contact information for references will be requested at that time. All applications will be kept in strictest confidence.
Search Committee Update: December 18, 2023
The Search Committee continues to work evaluating data from a recent Parish Survey. There were over 250 responses to the survey from across the congregation. The results of the survey will be used for the Parish Profile which is well underway. Indeed, the committee hopes to have a completed Parish Profile to the vestry by mid-January.
Search Committee Update: November 15, 2023
The Search Committee has begun its work. Initially, the committee is assembling a Parish Profile, a document that describes Ascension’s history, context, ministries, congregation, and financial health. It will also include past and current challenges and opportunities. A Rector Profile section will highlight the leadership characteristics we seek in Ascension’s next rector.
The Search Committee welcomes input from Ascension parishioners, both members and regular attendees who are not members. In that spirit, we will soon publish a parish survey and invite as many responses as possible. We also invite you to reach out personally to any member of the search committee with input you would like to make, or with questions you have. Members of the committee include: Benn Carlucci, Melita Carter, Marilyn Chislaghi, Jeff Forster (chair), Sarah Gilmer, Mandy Jabbour, Tyler Marwood, Aaron Sams, Ginger Weeber (vice-chair). While the committee will provide process updates and welcome all input, please understand that no information on individual candidates (including whether they’re candidates!) can be shared.
