Campus Ministry

“O Come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!”

-Psalm 95:1

Church of the Ascension is devoted to loving God and loving our neighbors, and those neighbors includes the college students of Oakland. Through our partnership with the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO) and our team of campus ministry staff, Ascension’s Undergraduate Campus Ministry, VENITE, is committed to seeing this generation of college students transformed by Christ to transform the world for Christ. Venite invites college students into a deeper understanding of the Gospel, a broader vision of God’s Kingdom, and richer relationships within the diversity of Christ’s body at Church of the Ascension and beyond.

Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA)

In 2021 Ascension introduced Chris Kirkland as our staff member for Graduate Student Ministry and entered into an exciting new partnership with the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA). The CMDA is a national network created to help support medical and dental students and professionals in their walk with Christ and to train them to use their talents for furthering the Kingdom of God. Chris is getting our Graduate Student Ministry into shape so that those doing advanced degrees in Pittsburgh can have a church home and plenty of support during this challenging phase of their lives. Please reach out to him to get connected to CMDA or Ascension’s graduate student group (contact info below).
