Wes was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and attended Florida State University, where he came to faith through the local Intervarsity ministry. He moved to Ambridge, Pennsylvania in 2011 to study at Trinity School for Ministry, from which he graduated in 2015.
Wes served for a year as a missionary with Uncommon Grounds Cafe, a Church Army USA ministry in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. After that year, he moved into Pittsburgh and started discerning the next steps in ministry while attending Church of the Ascension. Wes steadily became more involved as a volunteer at Ascension and formally began the discernment process in the summer of 2021. He was ordained as a deacon on June 3, 2023.
As a Curate, his ministry at Ascension includes working with the Music and Worship Arts, Youth, and Special Needs ministries.
