Shortly after graduation he went to work at The Pittsburgh Laboratory Theatre which made its home not far from Ascension on North Craig Street. He worked consistently afterwards with many local theatres including the Acting Company of Laurel Highlands, Pyramid Productions, Axiom Theatre, Upstairs Theatre, South Park Theatre, and most recently McKeesport Little Theatre.
In 1994, Richard participated in The Pittsburgh New Works Festival and his performance was recognized as being the Outstanding Male Performance in a Featured Role. The following year, Richard was recognized by the drama editors of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as giving one the top 15 supporting performances of the year for his work in the play Rosen’s Son.
Richard has been a member of Ascension since 1998, became more active in church activities in 2007 and began working at Ascension as custodian in 2010. Recently, he became an active member of the choir as well as a reader and chalice bearer and is happy to make Ascension his spiritual home.
