Jeanne grew up in Maine on an island on the Sheepscott River. She went to college in New London Connecticut where she first studied and became enamored of the organ, earning a Bachelor of Arts in music.
She went on to earn a Masters in Music from the New England Conservatory in Boston, and she completed doctoral work in organ performance at the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, where she met her future husband Andy. She has served most main line denominations as a church musician and has been at Ascension since 1993.
Although raised in the church (her mother was also an organist and church musician), Jeanne was not converted to Christianity until she met and came to love the Lord Jesus in 1979. It was then that her passion turned from performing music as an organist to being a pastor, a church musician and especially a worship leader. She is passionate about bringing diverse people together united in worship of the Trinity, and there is little that fills her heart with more joy than the sound of people’s voices raised in praise.
Jeanne is also a trained spiritual director and is so grateful for the privilege of seeing the ways in which God works in others’ lives. She also loves solitude, time with her husband and son, hiking, traveling, reading, films and good food!
