Leah was born in Pittsburgh but grew up in Chippewa, a small town just outside of Beaver Falls in Northwest PA. She became a follower of Christ her senior year of high school after becoming close friends with a teammate on her high school volleyball team who had a strong faith and love for God.
Leah then attended Duquesne University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. However, during her time in college and through her leadership in a campus ministry called Crossroads, Leah felt that she was being called to the work of vocational ministry. Upon graduation, Leah entered the CCO Fellows program to further discern her call to ministry. Here, she spent a year ministering to college students at Slippery Rock University, and God affirmed that this was the work she was called to.
Since completing her year at Slippery Rock, Leah has moved back to Pittsburgh to continue her work in campus ministry with the CCO at University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University in partnership with Church of the Ascension where she ministers to youth and young adults. Her vision is that “every youth, every student, and every young adult would be invited to experience Christ’s love, engage the word of God, and build Christ-centered community, all within the context of the local church.”
