Typically couples meet with the officiating priest two or three times to discuss the nature of Christian Marriage as well as the specifics of the wedding service. Additionally, pre-marital counseling is required and usually takes place over the course of several weeks. Often these counseling sessions are conducted by an experienced lay couple in the parish and may even take place with other couples preparing for marriage. After an initial meeting with a priest, the engaged couple should contact the Parish Administrator to book a date for the wedding and receive additional written guidelines for wedding preparation.
