We welcome all kinds of people to worship with us and become part of our community – single or married, old or young, urban or suburban. Church of the Ascension draws people from all corners of Allegheny County, and our small groups that meet during the week are located in homes all over the Greater Pittsburgh area.
.
We also span a wide age range having many young families and a burgeoning baby population, with many seniors. Our congregation draws children and youth from many different school districts, charter schools, private schools, cyber schools and also home schools. All are welcome to participate in our children and youth ministries.
.
We also have a significant population of undergraduate and graduate college students, primarily from the Pitt and CMU campuses, who are welcome to participate in our college ministry. We especially welcome into our midst those with cognitive disabilities and offer a very special program called WINGS to assist in meeting their particular needs.
.
We’re a diverse bunch! We’re certainly not perfect – we’re just on our way to becoming more effective disciples of Jesus. Our hope is to be a church family to all who enter through our doors, introducing Jesus to those who do not yet know him, and helping those who do know Jesus to become more effective disciples in every area of their lives.
