Many people are needed to assist in all kinds of ways in order for Church of the Ascension to fulfill its mission. The main church governing body is called the ‘vestry’. Its members are elected at our annual meeting and serve terms of three years. The vestry is led by the ‘Senior Warden’ who is appointed by the Rector. The vestry also has a special officer called the ‘Junior Warden’ who is voted into that position by other vestry members. The vestry has a Treasurer who oversees the financial life of the church, a Clerk who records minutes of all meetings and a Chancellor who oversees the legal affairs of the church.

There are lots of particular ministries at Ascension which have lay or clergy leaders: acolytes, ushers, greeters, altar guild, prayer ministers, hospitality, readers, chalice bearers, small groups…the list goes on!
