The Revs. Christopher and Carrie Klukas have made Ascension their church home and have served as Liturgical Assistants since June 2015. Carrie did her undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh and was part of the college ministry staff at Ascension during that time. Later, Carrie discerned her call to priestly ministry through Ascension and worked here as a summer intern as part of her seminary formation. In 2005, Chris and Carrie were married at Ascension.
When the couple finished their degrees at Nashotah House Theological Seminary in Wisconsin, they returned to Pittsburgh so Chris could be the Rector at St. Martin’s Anglican Church in Monroeville, where he served for five years. During this time, Chris was also the Priest in Charge of our Diocesan “Happening” youth retreat. Carrie has served on the diocesan staff, as the Priest in Charge of Church of the Advent in Brookline, and as the Priest in Charge of St. Thomas and St. Luke in Patton, PA.
In 2011, Chris left St. Martin’s to join the staff of Trinity School for Ministry where he still serves as the Director of Communications and Publishing. He edits the Trinity School for Ministry Advent and Lenten Devotionals which many of you have used! Carrie homeschools their four children, Kieran (7), Elizabeth (5), Hannah (3), and Joseph (1). As a family, they enjoy cooking, gardening, and hiking. Chris and Carrie both love encouraging couples in their marriages and teaching them to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
“We are both so excited to be back among our friends at Ascension” the couple remarked. “We are looking forward to working alongside all of you as we labor together for the sake of the Gospel.”
