Moreton-in-Marsh, a thriving market town, lies in the northern Cotswolds of Gloucestershire, England. (Our Rector’s mother lives there.) Her village is filled with lively folks who can’t wait to meet once a month at their local parish to join together for a meal, some fun and some meaningful interaction. When she described to us the success of their group, we couldn’t resist creating our own unique group.
We gather on a monthly basis to share a meal, get acquainted and to listen to a lively talk on a variety of inspiring topics
When Do We Meet?
We meet monthly on the 2ND Thursday of the month, 12:30 to 2:30pm, September through June
Who Can Come?
Any one can come. The group is designed with seniors in mind. Typically that is age 55+. However, if you are younger than that – that’s OK. And, there’s no need to be a member of the church. Friends are welcome!
What is the Cost?
First time for a friend is free! After that, $10 covers the cost of lunch.
How Do I Preregister?
Simply email the Rev. Ann Tefft or call the church at 412-621-4361. If you forget, come anyway! We’d love to have you. (Though pre-registering helps us to know how much food to provide.)
From Trinity Magazine:
“A few weeks ago, I spoke to the OWLS group at Church of the Ascension – a new group with so much energy, joy and wisdom in the group that I couldn’t help but think of the psalmist’s words: they still bear fruit in old age.” – The Rev. Canon Mary Hays, Canon to the Ordinary
