Hospitality
Part of the mission statement of Church of the Ascension is to be a Worshipping Community. Hospitality on Sundays and at other times is one of the key supports for our life together as a community.

Each Sunday during the regular school year the kitchen crew gets busy bright and early, preparing a wonderful cooked breakfast, served buffet style, for all who wish to come. It's a great deal, at just $3 per person. Coffee hour is also held weekly after our later service is finished. Both are good opportunities to chat with others and get

Throughout the year we have events together to celebrate and mark special seasons. In Lent our custom is to come together on Wednesday evenings for a special Lenten Dinner Series. We crowd out the parish hall and enjoy a potluck meal over the course of several Wednesday nights. Each May we have an annual Ascension Day Feast to celebrate our name day. The Bishop visits and we usually have baptisms or confirmations. In June we head out to a local park for our annual Parish Picnic. We also have a couple barbeques on the church lawn throughout the summer months, as well as a Strawberry Festival We kick off the new school year in September with another barbeque on the church lawns, welcoming students new to town to come and worship with us. Perhaps the climax of the year is our New Years Eve Eucharistic Feast, a wonderful meal during which communion is celebrated at the dinner table.

As part of its mission of sharing Christ's love and healing in a broken world, Ascension has a meal ministry for those who are sick or experiencing some kind of challenging circumstance.  Meals are arranged for those in our church community who are celebrating the birth of a baby, recovering from surgery or illness, or mourning the loss of a loved one,
