PRAYER MINISTRIES AT ASCENSION
Do you need prayer?
We all hunger and thirst to know God in a very direct and real way. Yet, sometimes the hurt and pain in our lives keep us from seeing and knowing Him. Take advantage of the Prayer Ministry Teams available to pray with you. Come for prayer during communion at the 10:30am Sunday service in one of three places: the Gordon chapel, the back room of the Sacristy, or in the Narthex. Prayer Ministers wait to pray with and for you. If you have no idea where these places are and don't understand the church lingo (Narthex, Sacristy...) please just talk to an usher!
Ascension also has teams of specially trained intercessors who will pray with individuals at times outside the 10:30am service. If you would like an extended time of prayer with a small group of intercessors (usually 2 - 3), please contact any member of the pastoral staff.
We also offer a time of 'Soaking Prayer' the last Sunday of the month, for one hour prior to the 10:30am service. Please contact the church office for details. Soaking prayer is a time to come into the presence of God, and sit quietly while prayer ministers pray for you. Individual prayer sessions will be offered on Sunday mornings from 9:15 - 10:15am beginning in January 2010.
Can you pray on Sunday mornings?
Perhaps you want to join the Prayer Vigil team who pray about 20 minutes before the 10:30am worship service to ask the Lord's blessing and protection for our worship, its leadership, and its outreach. If God is prompting your heart to pray with this ministry, call Sue Gibbon at 412-487-4583
Can you pray during the week?
As the family of God, we are all called to pray for one another and to carry one another's burdens. We do this by taking them to God in prayer. Each Monday prayer requests are emailed out to a wide body of intercessors - those who pray for someone else's need. This could be you! Please consider this vital ministry and service to our family. Contact Jeanne Kohn with your email address to be added to the list of those who pray for us.
