Sermons

Ascension has a long history of strong biblical preaching. Central to our weekly worship services is both Word (The Bible being read and preached about) and Sacrament (The celebration of Holy Communion).

We have a number of priests who preach regularly at Ascension, complemented by visiting bishops, theologians and others who are invited to preach from time to time. Our main preacher is the rector, Jonathan Millard, who preaches a little more than 50% of the time. Jonathan, a former English barrister learned public speaking addressing judges and juries, but is now very happy to preach to the congregation at Ascension!

Other regular preachers include Associate Rector Josh Miller, Assistant Rector Ann Tefft and Liturgical Assistants Ann Paton, Grant LeMarquand and Jack Gabig.
