As Christians we are called to become imitators of Christ, our hearts and minds and wills all being transformed to more clearly reflect the image of Jesus.
How is that done?
It happens in many ways – through worship, through scripture reading and study, through prayer, through fellowship and living in community with other believers. Equipping God’s people to grow in their Christian faith has many supports at Ascension. All are offered in hopes that the primary goal of Christian discipleship is met. Our hope is that members and friends attend worship services regularly and are fed by relevant and biblical preaching. It is also our hope that most members and friends of Ascension participate in one of our Community Groups. These groups typically meet in parishioners’ homes 2 to 4 times per month for Bible study, prayer, fellowship and service. Our various age and need-based ministries also play a vital role in helping people of all ages in their growing faiths. Baptism preparation, confirmation preparation, membership classes as well as retreats and targeted teachings are offered throughout the year.
