Church of the Ascension supports several local organizations actively engaged in sharing Christ’s healing–we do so financially, through prayer and through practical initiatives throughout the year. Several of our parishioners have worked or continue to work with these ministries as founding members or members of staff. The organizations are described briefly below.

East End Cooperative Ministries – EECM is dedicated to helping vulnerable adults and at-risk children and youth throughout Pittsburgh’s East End neighborhoods.

Shepherd’s Heart Fellowship – This Anglican Fellowship delivers tangible aid and shelter to the poor and homeless in Pittsburgh’s uptown neighborhood.

East Liberty Family Health Care Center –The mission of the East Liberty Family Health Care Center is to witness to God’s love, known in Jesus Christ, by offering quality, whole-person health care to all, especially the poor.

Northside Christian Health Center – The health center was founded to serve the poor and uninsured living on the north shore of Pittsburgh.

Women’s Choice Network – The mission of the Network is to empower abortion-vulnerable women to choose life.

Coalition for Christian Outreach – The mission of CCO is “Transforming College Students to Transform the World.”

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship – InterVarsity is an evangelical campus mission serving students and faculty on college and university campuses nationwide. The vision of InterVarsity is to see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed, and world changers developed.
