The Oakland Girls Choir, founded in 2005, is dedicated to pursuing artistic excellence through a system of choirs that are integrated ethnically and socio-economically in an environment of mutual respect and encouragement. Singers come to the Oakland Girls Choir from all over the greater Pittsburgh region. Choristers are grouped into ensembles by age and skill level. In addition to a Tour Choir, a Chamber Choir exists for girls in grades 7 through 12. There are also two training choirs for girls in elementary school. Choristers form strong friendships during rehearsals, retreats, tour and other social events.
