THERE ARE THREE 9:15 CLASSES IN MARCH
:

(1) "DISCIPLESHIP ACCORDING TO ST. PAUL"
MARCH 2, 9, 16 and 30th

The Rev. Dr. Rod Whitacre, Trinity School for Ministry

Location: Hunt Room
One of the goals of Paul's ministry was to 'present everyone mature in Christ' (Col 1:28). In this 4-week series we will seek to learn from Paul what maturity in Christ looks like on both an individual and a corporate level, and what we can do to become more mature in Christ. We will also seek Paul's help in understanding the task which God has for us as disciples of Christ, a task that gives meaning, purpose, and guidance to our lives.
March 2 - What is a disciple?
March 9 - What does the life of an individual disciple look like?
March 16 - What is the pattern of life of a community of disciples?
March 30 - What is the mission of Christ's disciples?

(2) "JESUS' TRIAL BEFORE PONTIUS PILATE"
MARCH 2, 9, 16

Location: Conference
Drawing on the account in John's gospel, Deb will help us explose a significant part of our Lord's suffering. Using a variety of film clips, Bible study and drama, this class will provide a meditative and thoughtfull lead up to Holy Week.

THERE ARE THREE 9:15 CLASSES IN APRIL:

(1) "MY BIG, FAT GREEK CLASS"
APRIL 6 - 27

The Rev. Dr. Grant LeMarquand, Trinity School for Ministry

Location: Hunt Room
This will be a very basic introduction to New Testament Greek. We will learn the alphabet, basic pronunication, and the easiest parts of the nominal and verbal systems. Students will not learn enough Greek to be dangerous, but enough to see if they might want to learn more. Those interested can purchase "Learn NT Greek" by John Dobson from the bookstore at Trinity School for Ministry - phone Pam Kuhns at 724-266-3838.

(2) "FUN, INDUCTIVE AND APPLICABLE: USING THE COMMUNAL DISCOVERY METHOD TO HELP YOUR GROUP GET THE MOST OUT OF GROUP BIBLE STUDY!"
APRIL 6, 13 and 20th

Jason Toman, Staff Worker with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

Location: Conference Room
Ever led a bible study and felt like you did most of the talking? Or if your group was gregarious, did you ever struggle to let the scripture itself lead the direction of the discussion? The Communal Discovery Method, used in many places by InterVarsity staff and students on college campuses, is one way to provide quality inductive bible study with a high level of group participation. Leading this kind of study involves using creative means to engage people with scripture, and it requires the leader to guide the inductive process by encouraging participants to pose and answer questions of the text. This three-week course will demonstate and describe the method and provide you with all the tools necessary to lead this kind of study on your own. For anyone familiar with 'manuscript' bible study, inductive bible study, or 'study guide' bible study, the course will also describe the relationship of this method to those concepts.
