"The theology of Food! Does that sound like an oxymoron? Isn't theology all about loud arguments over freewill and predestination, theories of the atonement or forms of baptism? To that question scripture proclaims a resounding NO, because in the Bible, EVERYTHING relates to God. No part of our life is independent of God - not our work, not our money and certainly not our food. Think about it: food is essential to life. We need it; therefore how and what we eat is of great concern to the God who gives us life. This does not mean that french fries are ungodly or that 'real' Christians eat broccoli. In this retreat we'll deal with questions like, "What does the Bible say about food?" "How does food figure in my spiritual life?" "Does God care how and when we eat?" And of course Denise will give us something to talk about!
