Discovering Christianity PDF Print E-mail
Curious about God? Coming back after some time away from the church? Know someone with faith questions or doubts? Discovering Christianity is for you! This 10-week course begins Monday evenings, 7 - 9pm, January 21 - March 24th at Church of the Ascension in the Guildroom (The 2nd floor room above the old Parish Hall).

This 10-week, friendly, discussion-based course is a perfect way to explore. Over dessert and coffee, people from all walks of life gather to learn, discuss and question the faith that Jesus taught. Each week a different topic is tackled and then discussed in small discussion groups. No question is off limits! No opinion is out-of bounds! Every participant is treated (and is asked to treat others) with dignity and good humor.

What will we talk about?

Topics include:
  • Who is Jesus? What difference does it make?
  • Why did Jesus die?
  • Why is there suffering?
  • Can I trust the Bible? Why & how should I read it?
  • Who is the Holy Spirit?
  • Why & how do I pray?
  • Does God heal today?
  • What about the Church?
  • How can I be sure God accepts me?
