Mission Trips PDF Print E-mail
Every summer students have a chance to attend one of our Mission Trips.  We usually take students in grades 7-12.  Some trips are local, while others are national. Student Ministries has a three year goal for all senior high school students: They will have the chance to first take a local trip, then a national one, and finally an international trip.

This focus is based upon the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20).

Summer Mission Trip for Ascension Student Ministries Summer 2008

We are going to stay put and work in our own back yard.  We are going to be doing home repair during the day having fellowship, worship, and hanging out.  That’s right, we are going to be spending a week in Oakland/Shadyside area for a whole week in the “New Catacombs”.  We are working with Eastminster Presbyterian Church and Ted Melnyk.  The trip will be taking place July 20-26 for all students who have completed 7th grade.  All students who are completed 6th grade will come on July 21-24.  This trip will only cost each person a total of $175 ($125 for 6th grade), partial scholarships are available.  This includes everything—food, tools, good times, spiritual growth, lodging, and transportation.  We would like to leave a donation when we are done to help continue the work we did, so if anyone would like to make a donation please feel free to do so and make checks payable to Church of the Ascension, and on the memo line please write ‘summer mission trip’.    If anyone is interested in potentially being an adult volunteer on this trip please contact Alex as soon as possible.  This trip should be an incredible experience that you do not want to miss.  Please sign up soon…spaces are limited.

Parents, I need a deposit of $50 by Feb. 1st to secure a spot on this trip.  I will have more information soon with Frequently Asked Questions answered.  If you need more information please email so I can send you the informational packet about this trip.  Do not hesitate to call or email me.

Thanks,

Alex Ruzanic
