Toddlers and preschoolers under the age of 4 are well cared for in Room #102 of the Children’s Wing from 9:15 until the end of the church service. Some parents prefer to pick up their children earlier, and take them into the service for Communion.
For many children, the Nursery (Room #101 of the Children’s Wing) is their first experience with Children’s Ministries at Ascension. We work hard to provide a pleasant and safe environment for infants and toddlers who are under two years old by September 1 of the current year. Although we don’t have a hard and fast rule regarding the age, we do find this guideline to be an effective method of determining the appropriate class for each child.
Our caregivers and teachers have the necessary clearances, as required by the Episcopal Diocese. It is our hope that all parents will take a role to help support our ministry to and with the children. Parent volunteers staff the nursery each week on a rotating schedule that is published quarterly.
