Fat Tuesday Festival (2007)

On FAT TUESDAY, February 5th, Ascension turned its annual Pancake Supper into a big event for the entire community. Between 300-350 people ate pancakes, sausage, and apple sauce, listened to live music and enjoying some BIG festivities. All the kids (and some big people) were given balloons, lots of faces were painted, and one of our clergy won the an all-ages pancake eating contest. Fat Tuesday Bingo was so popular that some of the kids have decided to continue the fun on Sunday mornings between 9:15 & 10:15 while parents are at Adult Ed classes. With the weather at 58 degree, the fire pits for roasting marshmallows and hot cider and cocoa were a great addition to the night.
