“Adult Formation” is a combination of “adult education” and “spiritual formation.”  We believe that the process of Christian education doesn’t end with childhood but continues on throughout adulthood.  “Spiritual formation” has been defined as “…the activity of the Holy Spirit which molds our lives into the likeness of Jesus Christ… We cooperate with this work of the Spirit through certain practices that make us more open and responsive to the Spirit…such as Sabbath keeping, works of compassion and justice, discernment, worship, hospitality, spiritual friendships, and contemplative silence.” 

Basically, Adult Formation is about helping grown-ups become more like Jesus.  At Ascension, this happens in a lot of ways.  It happens during the 9:15 a.m. Adult Education hour on Sunday mornings.  It happens in the Small Groups that meet in home throughout the week.  It happens by doing service in the community and mission around the world.  Come join us as we practice becoming “little Christs”!
