Community Life

At Church of the Ascension, our desire is to be a worshipping community - a body of believers who worship together and enjoy real fellowship with one another, both within the church and beyond its walls. We try to foster community through our small groups, an active hospitality ministry (Sunday breakfasts, Sunday coffee hour, Lenten Dinner series, Special Feasts in May and December, etc), parish events both within and outside of the walls of our facility (a Fat Tuesday Festival in February, an Annual Parish Picnic in June, Summer Barbeques, a Strawberry Festival, an Annual Skating Party in the winter), an Annual Retreat held at Laurelville Camp and Conference Center in early October, and many additional ways. Our hope is that Newcomers feel comfortable in our community. A class is offered, approximately 3 - 4 times a year, called Discovering Ascension, to help Newcomers get the 'lay of the land' at Ascension.
