The Emergency Relief Fund was established at Ascension in the wake of Hurrican Katrina. The fund is intended to have a balance to enable us to respond quickly to disaster situations in the world. To date, the monies have been used to send several teams to Mississippi and Louisiana, as well as one person to Pakistan after the devastating earthquakes there. Funds were also sent to Food for the Hungry International field workers in Bangledesh, following devastating floods. We take up special offerings for this fund several times a year, however members and friends of Ascension are welcome to contribute to it at any time.
